IHHT Mallorca: how a cell-training practice works in Palma

From Palma to Pollença: how IHHT is offered in Mallorca, what makes a good practice, and what residents, visitors and businesses should look for.

Mallorca is far more than a holiday island. Tens of thousands of residents from all over Europe live around Palma, alongside athletes, entrepreneurs and second-home owners. Many of them look for calm methods that fit an active life — and that's often how they come across IHHT.

How IHHT is offered in Mallorca

There are essentially three routes on the island: sessions at a clinic or longevity centre, programmes in hotels and spas, and mobile service at home or at your finca. ZELLGIPFEL is based in Palma and supports all three — from advice through installation to training.

  • Clinics and longevity centres: IHHT as a calm addition to what they already offer.
  • Hotels, spas and studios: a programme for guests who take recovery seriously.
  • Home and finca: support for residents in Palma, the south-west, the north and inland.

A session in Palma or support at your finca?

The most common question before starting is whether you travel to an appointment or the support comes to you. Both are normal in Mallorca, and both make sense. People who live or work in Palma often slot a session between two meetings. Those living further out save themselves the drive along the Ma-13 or the switchbacks of the Tramuntana.

  • A session in Palma: a fixed room and fixed times, easy to combine with the office, the marina or the old town.
  • Support at home or at your finca: no travel time, familiar surroundings, flexible hours.
  • For clinics, hotels and studios: on-site setup, team training and ongoing support.

Getting there from around the island

Mallorca is smaller than people think, but driving times differ a lot. This rough split has proved useful when planning appointments and keeping them regular.

  • Palma and surroundings such as Son Vida, Portixol or Génova: short journeys, early-morning slots possible.
  • The south-west, from Andratx through Santa Ponça to Calvià: roughly 20 to 40 minutes into Palma.
  • The Tramuntana and the north, such as Sóller, Pollença or Alcúdia: on-site support is usually the calmer option here.
  • Inland and the east, such as Inca, Manacor or Santanyí: easy to plan when sessions are grouped together.

How to spot a good IHHT practice

What matters is care, not promises. Devices should be certified as medical devices — in the EU this is governed by the Medical Device Regulation [1]. Just as important: a thorough initial conversation, continuous monitoring of oxygen saturation and pulse, and someone on hand throughout the session.

  • A certified medical device rather than improvised equipment.
  • An initial conversation that also covers existing conditions and medication.
  • Continuous monitoring throughout the session, not only at the start.
  • Clear, factual language: no health claims, no guarantees.
A good practice is one that also tells you when IHHT isn't right for you.

How to prepare for your first appointment

You need very little for the first conversation: a list of your medication, notes on any existing conditions and, if you have them, recent results from your doctor. Comfortable clothes are enough — no sportswear needed. Allow a little more time than for a regular session, since the conversation and baseline check come on top.

What research says — and what it doesn't

A systematic review brought together studies on intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia in humans and describes a young, varied field of research [2]. The studies are often small and the protocols differ. That's why reputable providers talk about process and experience, not guaranteed results — and refer health questions to medical care.

Advice in three languages

Because Mallorca is international, we advise in English, German or Spanish. The first consultation is free and there's no obligation: we look together at whether IHHT suits your situation, how often sessions are realistic and what they cost. You'll find more on our location and service area on our IHHT in Mallorca page.
