For a practice or studio, the question isn't only whether IHHT works. It's whether it fits: the room, the calendar, the team and everything already on offer.
Space and scheduling
An IHHT station needs very little: a comfortable lounger or recliner, a power socket, some air and quiet. A session runs 20 to 40 minutes; with arrival, fitting the mask and reviewing the data, budget around 45 minutes.
- Footprint: roughly 6 to 8 m² per station is enough.
- Hygiene: personal mask and filter, a clear cleaning protocol.
- Calendar: 45-minute blocks, multi-week series per client.
- Utilisation: two or three regular clients a day already change the maths.
Staff and training
You don't need a full medical team, but you do need someone trained who can read SpO₂ and pulse, recognise when to stop and document the session. A controlled study in cardiology patients shows how much supervision and participant selection are part of the method [1].
A serious provider is recognised by what it turns down, not by what it promises.
Regulatory framework and communication
The device we work with is a class IIa medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 [3]: that means using it within its intended purpose and documenting accordingly. For communication the rule is simple — describe the procedure and the experience, never promise a cure. The 2022 systematic review is a useful reminder of where the evidence ends [2].
- No indications, no outcome promises — not on the site, not at the desk.
- Informed consent and history-taking before the first session.
- Medical referral for pre-existing conditions or anything unclear.
Running the numbers for your case
The calculator estimates revenue, costs and break-even for your number of stations. On a call we go through the room, the team and a realistic timeline for getting started.
